DirtDash Inc. ("DirtDash", "we", "us", "our") operates the DirtDash marketplace platform at dirtdash.ca and via our mobile application. We are based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

2. What Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when registering or using our platform:

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account on the platform
• Match sellers, buyers, removal listings, and dump sites based on location and soil compatibility
• Process payments and issue e-tickets and invoices
• Communicate with you about listings, matches, and platform updates
• Verify driver credentials and insurance documentation
• Activate and manage registered dump sites
• Improve the platform through usage analytics
• Comply with applicable legal obligations
• Detect and prevent fraud or prohibited activity

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

• Between matched parties: When a match is confirmed, relevant contact and location details are shared between the excavator, dump site or buyer, and driver to facilitate the transaction.
• Service providers: We use third-party services including Glide (app platform), Stripe (payments), and Make.com (automation). These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by confidentiality agreements.
• Legal compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or regulatory authority, including Alberta Environment and Protected Areas if a contamination concern is reported.
• Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction. Users will be notified in advance.

5. Location Data

DirtDash uses location data (addresses and GPS coordinates) to match listings, calculate delivery routes, and confirm pickups and drop-offs. Location data is used only for operational purposes and is not shared with third parties for advertising or tracking purposes.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Transaction records, e-tickets, and match history are retained for a minimum of 7 years to comply with Alberta business and tax record-keeping requirements.

When you delete your account, we will remove your personal profile within 30 days, subject to any legal retention requirements.

7. Your Rights Under PIPA (Alberta)

As an Alberta resident, you have the following rights under the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA):

• Right to access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Right to correction: You may request that inaccurate or incomplete information be corrected.
• Right to withdraw consent: You may withdraw consent for non-essential data uses at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions.
• Right to complaint: You have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta (OIPC) if you believe your privacy rights have been violated.

Our website (dirtdash.ca) may use cookies and analytics tools to understand how visitors use the site. We use this information only to improve the website experience. We do not use advertising cookies or sell browsing data.

You may disable cookies in your browser settings. This will not affect your ability to use the DirtDash app.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss. These include encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), access controls, and regular security reviews.

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach that poses a risk to your rights, we will notify affected users and the OIPC as required by law.

10. Children's Privacy

DirtDash is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has registered on our platform, contact us and we will promptly remove the account.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify users via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
